About Talk:Antenna group in Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) has been very active in R&D of antenna miniaturization technologies for wireless systems since 2002. In this talk, Dr Zhi Ning Chen will briefly update the latest progress in miniaturization technologies of antennas in modern wireless systems, such as mobile phone, laptops and implanted/wearable devices. The most challenging technical issues in electrically, physically and functional small antenna designs will be reviewed with examples. The new trends to development of miniaturization of antennas will be presented. Some newly proposed technologies in miniaturization will be discussed.
